I had always preferred french to german earlier... but now I think
german has more influence in Europe with whole of germany, with variations
in swiss, austria, and the similar dutch... So now I am trying hard to
learn German in whatever little time I can afford to it...
what
languages are people learning ? spanish anyone ?

i agree with you. As far as usability is concerned..... But I totally disagree when it comes to style. French is more stylish and romantic:-). I want to learn french.
