A product based company lets you focus on one thing. So you're good at something, but you're good at just that!

A services company gives you a broader scope. Ofcourse, there is the "client is the king" factor! But if you can work around that, you have many more technologies to choose from; jack of all trades sort of a job! :)

These two things are very closely knitted. Many companies try to give service and later productize the service. And technology has never been a limitation in any of these cases.
