I feel very lucky to say that life is wonderful after marriage ( No, No.. I am not a newly wed saying that :-) ) It really feels so nice to make a family of your own.

Good idea! After all it isn't very different from choosing the right shampoo.
Select the wrong shampoo....u get bad hair days.

as for thoughts on Marriage than live-in relationship,

When my partner and I thought over live in/marriages as options to be together, we chose marriage with no doubts as it seemed easy/ better respected in more societies... the difference that the legal agreement makes is advantageous, it elevates your social position, Some govt. allows you to pay lesser tax, companies offer allowances for spouse (not for girl-friend) and as for the self - I think the sense of belongingness increases with time as differed to the increase in sense of insecurity in live-in relationships which more people seem to face.... when one is sure about the person with whom they want to spend the rest of the life, why not register it then with more benefits ?

The true joy of togetherness in families (amidst all differences in views/temper etc) should be experienced and to have it all along till you are old and die is a gift. Marriage is the first step to all such good things I think, just my two cents....

Apart from the monetary/social benefits Gees, what emotional betterment do u find in a marriage (something that u don't get in a live-in) ?

I have to agree with the advantages that you talk about in terms of the social and the legal
BUT, and that's a big BUT, like persephone says, what emotional or other forms of advantages do you get out of marriage that you dont in a live-in?
and mind you, no bringing children into the equation, cuz that obviously changes things.

I assume comparing only self-arranged marriages and live-in here, we know legal papers don’t prove or bring in love among couple but a little bit of assurance of being committed in the name of marriage bring a lot of changes in people's attitudes. You know your search ends when you are married.

There's more tolerance in married life. Live-in break ups are easier than marriage break-ups, Marriage is just not two people, its bringing together two families too, you get better support on anything always. I also think Married people enjoy better sex-life. We definitely have to talk about babies when we consider future, raising one as a single parent puts the kid into more insecure feeling too.

It’s so emotionally satisfying to not have doubts about life and share love/ care in abundance. Live-in is quite a pre runner to marriage and mostly successful partners end up tying the knot later in their lives for developing a family.

[There are exceptions in both, its more of a personal convenience to chose. We prefer real commitment towards everything, additional benefits are always good:-) ]

We've been living together for 25 years.
We've been married for 25 years.

U know, the first one brings a Wow! Second one.....well, most of the people consider walking out of a wedlock a social taboo. So, no big deal.

"Live-in break ups are easier than marriage break-ups" - Again the taboo factor attached with the later.
"its bringing together two families too, you get better support on anything always" - Will be the worst reason to get married.
"Married people enjoy better sex-life" - If sex is a pure mind-game for u...and everything-in-place is what excites u....well, of course.
"raising one as a single parent puts the kid into more insecure feeling too" - Single parent is better than always-fighting parents.
"It’s so emotionally satisfying to not have doubts about life and share love/ care in abundance" - When in a live-in relationship u can be sure that u r together b'coz u love each other.......and not b'coz of some legal agreement.
